I'm late getting this post done, but didn't want to forget Palm Sunday. I love Palm Sunday. It's so easy to visualize Jesus on the donkey with people so excited and laying down their coats and palm leaves to welcome him. They cheered and waved. He entered Jerusalem a King and the crowd welcomed him, then a week later they demanded his death.
Matthew 21
The Triumphal Entry
1 As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead.2 "Go into the village over there," he said. "As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me.3 If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, 'The Lord needs them,' and he will immediately let you take them."
4 This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said,
5 "Tell the people of Jerusalem,
'Look, your King is coming to you.
He is humble, riding on a donkey—
riding on a donkey's colt.'"
6 The two disciples did as Jesus commanded.7 They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it.
8 Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.9 Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,
"Praise God for the Son of David!
Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the LORD!
Praise God in highest heaven!"
10 The entire city of Jerusalem was in an uproar as he entered. "Who is this?" they asked.
11 And the crowds replied, "It's Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."
This year on Palm Sunday we went to church and then to Danny's mom and dad's house for a visit with his brother and his family (it was so good to see you guys, Ronnie!). Here are the kids on the way there:
We have a busy week with dentist and doctor appointments, school events and egg hunts, etc. (and the weather feels more like winter than Easter) but I'm going to try to be still and remember what this Holy Week means to me.

I love Palm Sunday! This year we had a real donkey walk through church. The kids were over the moon!
Sarah! A real donkey?!? How awesome!
Palm Sunday is a really wonderful day--so sad when I think about how Jesus felt right before he entered Jerusalem. He knew what was going on but came in joyously.
The kids are so cute--looked like a very relaxing ride :)
We traveled in the car Easter weekend. Bethany never fell asleep. I did. I loved it when she slept in the car as a baby. She would get all sweaty, and had marks on her face from the straps. Then you would pull her out of the seat when you stopped, and she would snuggle up on my shoulder. My baby days are gone.
