Desitin, it's not just for butts anymore....

This is what Phoebe did with the Desitin when I was doing dishes. As we know, Desitin is made to be water (pee) proof so it's very hard to get off. This is the second day in a row she has had to get a bath in the middle of the day. Yesterday she smeared Baby Eczema Cream all over her face and hair. That stuff is just like grease in a tube. She should have very soft skin.

Just call her Chia!

Owen is really into the cartoon Ben 10 from the Cartoon Network. Ben has a cousin named Gwen. Today Owen says I should have named him Ben.

Photobucket

And I should have named Chloe Gwen.

I asked him what we would have named Phoebe. Without missing a beat, he said "Ch Ch Chia!".

Spring Fever

I bought some flowers and plants today and Chloe and I planted them this evening. I love the hanging ferns and the geranium for my porch. We planted petunias in the window boxes. I guess the warm weather (80s the last few days!) has me ready to plant flowers. I hope it doesn't frost again so I don't have to carry the flowers in. While we were planting, Chloe found a four leaf clover.

Owen helped Dad in his garden today. We went to lunch with Mom and Dad and we all got flowers and new play sand for the sandboxes. It was a fun day but I'm tired! All the sunshine makes me sleepy. I bet we all sleep well tonight!

Party Hoppers

Our Playgroup went on a little field trip today to Party Hoppers, a little place inside a mall with bounce houses, ball pit, and inflatable slides. Owen and Phoebe had a fun time. This morning when I told Owen we were going to Party Hoppers he asked if today was his birthday. When I said no he said "Well, you said it was PARTY Hoppers". As if we wouldn't tell him his birthday was coming, and one day we'd just say "Good Morning, by the way, it's your birthday". ;)

It was hard to get a picture of Owen, he was always moving!

While at the mall we ate at the food court and Owen and Carolee (his friend and my friend's daughter) got Burger King kids meals. Owen was excited because they had Iron Man toys. He and Carolee got different toys (big problem!) and he really wanted the one she had because it was actually Iron Man. So I went back up to Burger King and asked to buy just the toy. It was $1.58!!! I should have just bought another darn kids meal. Good grief. I guess his happiness and the end to the turmoil was worth $1.58. ;)

Massacre by siblings

If you were at our house on Sunday, you would have seen this sign on Chloe's door:

It reads: Danger Go Away Never Come Back or Else!!!! It also has a scary skull and crossbones and a mean frowny face. What prompted this terrible sign? Chloe stayed the night with her Aunt Bea Sat. night where she caught tadpoles and brought them home in a jar. #1 this is asking for trouble, #2 I hate frogs in any cycle of their life, #3 I told my sister not to let her bring tadpoles home. Chloe had put them up on her bookshelf where she thought they were safe, out of reach of little hands. Not high enough apparently. I went to check on Owen and Phoebe and noticed they were in Chloe's room. Owen got the jar down and Phoebe had knocked the jar over. Half of the tadpoles and water were all over the rug. I yell for Danny because I wasn't touching those things. He tries to get them cleaned up before Chloe sees and I add more water to the jar. We didn't move quickly enough, Chloe came in her room only to see the massacre caused by her siblings. She starts screaming hysterically and follows Danny to where he is flushing the tadpoles. She is crying that she should've buried them. Then she turns her rage on Owen. She cried and went on forever and concluded with, "What's next? Will he kill the cat and dogs? And my snail?!!". Oh the drama. Right before bed too.

A date with Chloe

Yesterday afternoon Chloe and I went to see the play, Thumbelina. When Chloe was little she loved Thumbelina. She watched the movie a hundred times, and we read the book over and over. We saw a poster advertising the play, so we got to go yesterday. It was so nice to just be with Chloe, that doesn't happen very often. We got to talk and hang out and we had a fun time. The play was great and I think Chloe really enjoyed it. The child actors were amazing. I was happy to spend time with her, she's a wonderful girl. Here she is on a bench when we were leaving (we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the theater).

Sleeping Jacket

Last night Phoebe was wearing a pair of pajamas that her MaMa got her for Christmas. They are two piece flannel pjs and the shirt buttons up the front. Phoebe wouldn't wear it and kept taking it off and saying it was a "coat". I guess to her because she had to put her arms into it like she does her coats, and it buttoned up, it must be a coat.

Owen also had some clothing troubles yesterday. He put his underwear on backward and I told him to turn them around and he turned his whole body around in a circle. I suppose that did turn his underwear around, but not exactly what I meant.

Dr. Mom

Cutie Patootie

I like these two pictures of Phoebe this morning.

And here she is eating her lunch, getting the last drop of her soup. She learned this from me because I drink the milk out of my cereal bowl. ;)

Kid logic

When you ask Owen what he wants to be when he grows up, he says "A man".

Owen came in the other morning wearing his pajama shirt and a pair of navy blue dress pants. I asked what happened to his pj pants. He said they got wet. When I asked how he said, "Water fell from the sky again".

While buying craft supplies to make Owen a stuffed gingerbread man (he loves gingerbread men for some reason), Chloe asked me what I was going to stuff it with. I told her I had some stuffing left at home from when I made pillows. She said if I couldn't find it I could always use the stuffing from the couch.

Phoebe handed Owen three socks yesterday that she found of his on the floor. He took two and knocked the other one down. I told him it wasn't nice to do that. He said "Well, Mom, I don't have four foots!".

Haircuts and flying kites

After trying three different barbers to get Owen's hair cut this afternoon, we finally just went to where I get my hair cut. He did great. Here's his before:

And after:

Chloe and I got our hair trimmed. Chloe wanted her hair french braided and then hated it. Money wasted on that. I thought it was cute.

It was windy today so we went outside and tried to fly kites. Chloe did pretty well. Owen's Spiderman kite didn't get up as high, he wasn't as good at it as Chloe, or as patient. :)

First pedicure and fun in the rain!

I was polishing Chloe's toenails and Phoebe kept sticking her feet out and wanted her toenails painted. (Aren't those the cutest chubby toes??)

We had a rain shower yesterday evening and the kids had fun playing in it. And the mud.

Warm weather pictures

We've been loving the weather the last few days! We've played outside, blown bubbles, used sidewalk chalk, gone on walks, and had a fun time. You can see in the pictures how dirty they get! :) Owen isn't crazy about walking (he says I need to give him a piggy bank ride) but likes looking for things and throwing rocks in the water. Chloe and Phoebe would stay outside for hours. Today is rainy but it gives me a day to catch up in the house. I register Owen for Kindergarten this afternoon. I can't believe it, he's still such a baby to me. I hate for him to go to school, shoot I hate for Chloe to go and she's in the fourth grade! :) Here are some pictures of some of the fun we've had enjoying the warm weather.

It took awhile, but he did it!

Chloe and Owen have marble jars we use for a reward system. If they do something good, nice, etc they get a marble in their jar. If they do something bad they lose a marble. Owen has finally filled his up and he got a Ben 10 toy at the store today. He's wearing it on his arm in this picture. (Boy toys are so weird.)

A beautiful day!

Today was the prettiest day we've had this Spring so far. It was sunny and in the lows 70s. We went to the park this evening. The kids loved it. Here are some pictures of them enjoying the beautiful day!

Report Card Day

Chloe got her report card today and got all As. One more report card and fourth grade is finished! Hooray, can't wait for summer vacation! We were proud of her grades, but were very proud of her honesty too. She noticed on her report card when the teacher handed it out, that he had given her a 100 in Math and she knew that wasn't right and she told him. He checked and he had reversed her Science and Math grade. She's so sweet. For getting all As she wants to have a sleepover. We'll probably try to do that next weekend.

I've been tagged!

I was tagged by Lisa from http://verybusymomwith4.blogspot.com/

Here are the rules of the game...
1) Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog
2) Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3) Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4) Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven facts about me....
1) I have never flown on an airplane. I hope to some day, specifically to Hawaii. I tell Danny we are going on our 20th anniversary. So, he has 7 years to save up! :)
2) I will not eat meat with bones in it. Ick. Danny loves to eat barbecue ribs at restaurants and I can't look. He covers the bones with a napkin after he eats the meat.
3) I broke my leg when I was 6. I missed most of first grade and did my work at home. I had three different casts from my toes to my hip. It is the only broken bone I've ever had.
4) I sometimes wish I had named Phoebe Molly instead.
5) I love reality tv, and tv in general.
6) I love to read. A couple of my favorite authors are Nicholas Evans and Nicholas Sparks.
7) I LOVE cereal. All different kinds. I usually eat it at least twice a day.

Okay, now I'm sorry to say, I'm going to break the rules of this tag and not tag seven others because I am new to blogging and don't really know seven other bloggers well enough to tag them. However, thanks Lisa, this was fun, and I liked your seven facts! :)

April Fool!

Chloe loves April Fool's Day. I made her this for dinner:

The meatloaf is mostly crushed Cocoa Krispies and marshmallows (with a bit of cocoa, dried pineapple, and red and green fruit roll ups). The mashed potatoes and gravy are ice cream and caramel sauce. The green beans are Air Heads microwaved to be soft, and then shaped. Chloe liked her "dinner". :)
