Sweet treat

I've had kind of a rough week. I'm too tired to go into any of it. I just wanted to write something happy. Today I came home from work, and Danny told me the Schwan's truck has stopped by looking for new customers. Mom and Dad used to order ice cream from them years ago. Danny just took a catalog and a number. I was excited they came to our house and was imagining all the yummy food I could get. We were kind of laughing and I said "You didn't get me a treat? You could have bought me a treat!". Phoebe who was quietly sitting at the table said, "Mommy, don't worry. When I grow up, I will go to the store and buy you a treat."

She's the only sweet treat I need!

Phoebe cuteness

Phoebe does and says so many cute things that I forget to write about them all here. She calls Chloe and Owen "the kids". When they are at school she asks where the kids are. When I tell her to call everyone for dinner or whatever, she'll yell "Kids!! It's time to eat!". This morning she was eating her breakfast and was looking around the kitchen. She said, "You have a nice house, Mom. You have kids in it".

Last week she was playing in her Rose Petal Cottage and she put on her little apron and was cooking. Then she came to me wearing it and was carrying a little Magna Doodle. She asked me what I wanted to eat. I named off some things and she "wrote" them and ran off to fix them. She was my waitress taking my order. She did this over and over.

This morning I asked her how her eye was feeling (it was closed this morning when she woke up and all gunky, plus her nose is runny). She said "Better, but actually my nose is not".

Good Morning

Phoebe has been up for ten minutes and has already been so cute. When she came in to where I was on the computer she said, "I waked up". A couple minutes later I asked if she wanted to go to Sunday School today and she said "In just a minute". Just now I asked if she wanted some oats for breakfast and she said "Yes. Thanks m'am.". It's shaping up to be a good day.

Phoeber Weeber

Phoebe was so sweet yesterday and said so many sweet things I can't remember. When we were eating breakfast she pushed her sleeves up because I always push her sleeves up when she eats. After a minute she said "See my sleeves pushed up like this? Push yours up". So I did and she said "Great, Mommy!".

Yesterday evening she wanted to eat some chips and salsa with Chloe. She ate a little bit and then ran to the bathroom. Danny went to check on her and she was brushing her teeth. He asked her why she was doing that and she said, "My teeth are hot". The salsa was mild, but too hot for her I guess.

She is Miss Independent all the time and wants to do everything herself. She alway says "I can do it. I a big girl!". She insists on dressing herself, putting on her shoes, putting on her coat, buckling her seatbelt, etc. Totally the opposite of Owen who would still like me to do all those things for him.

She looks at things in catalogs, or at the store when the others aren't with us, and will say, "Chloe will like that, won't she?" or "Owen would like that, wouldn't he?".

She was eating soup with me over the weekend and it was different soup than we normally eat (Progesso Vegetable Barley). She was eating it and liking it but she got a piece of celery on her spoon and said "What's this on my spoon?". I told her celery and she just said "Oh" and ate it. She did that again with a piece of tomato.

She has to kiss and hug everyone before she goes to sleep and before someone leaves. If after the kiss someone forgets, she says, "And a hug!". I'll take lots of those sweet kisses and hugs!

Phoebe cuteness

Phoebe is sitting on my lap and saw my blog. She saw the pictures of herself I posted recently and said, "That me when I was little".

Lately when I ask her something like, do you need a drink, or do need me to wipe your face, she'll say "No, I'm good". She also likes to answer questions with "sometimes" or "I guess". I love when she does that, and she always says it appropriately.

When I say something she doesn't like (like stop doing that) she says "Don't say that again, Mommy".

Tonight at dinner she took a few bites and started getting out of her chair and said "Be right back". I asked where she was going and she said to see Chloe. So she went over and sat with Chloe for a bit.

I was reading to her today and the book had different animals. Every page she would see an animal and say "I love pigs", then "I love dogs", etc.

And finally, her latest ploy that works like a charm, when I try to go pick up the kids off the bus and leave her home with Danny, she looks up at me and says "Don't leave me". I take her with me, of course.

Off to school

Today when I was getting the kids out the door to the bus, Phoebe went and got her backpack and put it on too. Owen told her she wasn't going to school, but she didn't care.

This is what I saw when I went to check on Owen last night to make sure he was asleep.

The mask glows green in the dark, so you don't get the full effect in this pic because of the flash, but his room was dark and I expected him to be asleep in bed and instead I see a glowing Hulk sitting up in the bed. Hilarious.

I just love these three!

It's often hard to get a picture of the kids all three smiling and looking at the camera, or not doing something crazy. I hate when I get a pic that I love of one or two of them, and then the other one isn't cooperating or something. So I was happy to get this pic on the first try! I just love 'em to bits!
